when digital dreams come true
after not having one for 6 years, i got my own computer last week. it's a 15-inch PowerBook G4, which has been my "dream computer" for quite a while. i've set it up just the way i like it, and have named it Io, after the Jupiterian moon.
i'm in love.
i got it from, of all places, a guy at a gas station here in Boston! i thank Lee, and the gods, for this one ~ she overheard Virgilio, the gas station attendant, swearing loudly in Spanish at his computer because he couldn't get it to work. brilliantly, she offered to bring someone by who might be interested in buying it.
boy, was i interested. and i got it for just US$200.
Io's screen has a loose connector somewhere, the DVD needs replacing, and i'll need a new battery if i want to go off the grid, but i'm certainly not complaining. Io is loved and is now being rehabilitated. i'm saving up for a few torx screwdrivers and a wireless card. now what to do with the toothpick i found under the keyboard...

Io orbitting Jupiter
i've been thinking about writing again. now that i've practically been given a computer, i'm wondering when i'm meant to start.
